The Role
• Working with a small team based in Edinburgh, the applicant must hold a chemistry degree and requires a good knowledge of organic chemistry as it relates to resins in inks, coatings and plastics industries
• The applicant must be bilingual in both English and Mandarin
• You will have excellent organisational and communication skills
• The technologist will work closely with the Commercial Manager and business contacts in China to develop new products and support existing products as well as offering technical solutions to customers
• Experience working in the pigments and resins sector would be preferable.

Main Responsibilities
• To develop, in-house or in collaboration with others, new resins and varnishes
• To build up relationships with existing customers and partners
• To become familiar with existing range of products
• To promote the product ranges in the market place identifying, where possible, new technological and commercial opportunities
• To identify new technical trends
• To undertake any special specific projects required.
